The Mentor Coach Preparation Program is a 10-hour live online education program for experienced mentor coaches. Taught in English, it brings together a European cohort preparing for the ICF Mentor Coach Specialization through the Credit for Prior Learning Path. Across five interactive two-hour sessions, the program connects existing mentor coaching experience with the six ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies and the professional expectations associated with mentor coaching at ACC, PCC and MCC levels.
Participants explore ethical practice and role clarity, mentor coaching agreements, developmental planning, formative appraisal, observation, evidence-based feedback, bias awareness and group mentor coaching. The program also examines how to work with the ACC, PCC and MCC Minimum Skills Requirements and relevant observation and review forms without reducing the process to a mechanical checklist.
Each session combines concise teaching with reflection, professional dialogue, observation exercises and practical application. The European cohort creates opportunities to exchange perspectives and compare mentor coaching practices across different countries, cultures and professional contexts. The emphasis is on translating the framework into a clear, consistent and developmental mentor coaching approach that can be applied in individual practice, group mentor coaching and coach education programs.
Participants who meet the completion requirements receive a certificate confirming 10 Continuing Coach Education hours in Mentor Coaching Education. This certificate can be used as evidence of the 10 hours of mentor coach education required for an ICF Mentor Coach Specialization application through the Credit for Prior Learning Path.
