Can AI Replace Human Coaches? A Philosophical Perspective on What Makes Coaching Truly Human
Today, artificial intelligence can already ask powerful questions, recognize patterns, reflect beliefs, and help people gain new insights. But is that enough to truly coach?
During this interactive keynote, Dr. Brenda Casteleyn, philosopher, coach, and AI expert, will guide us through a fascinating exploration of the future of coaching from three complementary perspectives: research, philosophy, and practical experience.
Through concrete examples, we will discover what ChatGPT is already capable of, how AI coaching is evolving, and how these developments relate to the ICF definition of coaching and its Core Competencies.
But we will also explore deeper questions. What makes coaching truly human? Is it the art of asking the right questions, or does the human relationship play an irreplaceable role? Can AI genuinely understand someone, or is it enough for a person to feel understood?
Through interactive questions, philosophical reflections and discussions, we will explore these questions together and reflect on what these developments mean for our future as human coaches.
An evening to take a step back, question the very essence of coaching, and explore the unique role of the human coach in a world where artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly prominent role.
